Extra Texture (Read All About It)
This album reflects a bout of depression brought on by George’s recent divorce from his first wife, Patti Boyd, and from the critics’ generally unfavorable reviews of Dark Horse and the 1974 tour. It is usually considered the low point of Harrison’s career, but the album does contain solid gems like “World of Stone” and “Tired of Midnight Blue” as well as the somewhat-of-a-sequel to “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” George’s contract with EMI/Apple was fulfilled with the completion of Extra Texture.
