Dark Horse
The story behind this album is now legendary. While frantically trying to put together a North American tour and being doubly frantic about getting an album out to go with it, an exhausted George developed laryngitis just before going on the road and before finishing the record. Not all of the tracks are affected by George’s failing voice, but it is easy to see why the album has been affectionately or disparagingly called “Dark Hoarse” over the years by fans, critics and even George himself.
